westrans bundles processes with the SPEDION App

Five packed into one! Before switching to the SPEDION App, the head office at westrans had to use about five different portals to exchange data with their drivers. Thanks to SPEDION, this has become a thing of the past. With our Android-based telematics solution, the transport service provider from Südlohn-Oeding, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, now has all its processes centralised. The SPEDION App also won high praise from their staff and management for its flexibility. For instance, westrans relies on a software package from modulon Webservice GmbH. It automates the calculation of their expenses, and of course, they wanted to keep using it. We integrated that into the new system without any problems! The company has also given its drivers Samsung Galaxy 'Active 2' tablets for use in its 80-vehicle fleet. Using the tablet's multi window function, drivers can now have two apps open on the screen. For example, they can have the SPEDION App and their navigation system accessible at the same time.

The advantages of this all-in-one solution are set out in the article 'westrans bundles processes with the SPEDION App telematics system' in issue 8/2020 of the trade magazine VerkehrsRUNDSCHAU. On pages 40-41, the managing director Manfred Robers talks about how it simplified communication between the dispatcher and driver, integrated seamlessly with their external applications, and automated their time-consuming processes.
