With 82 employees from nine countries, SPEDION has a truly international workforce. This diversity is also reflected in our languages: alongside German and English, we speak Spanish, Russian, French, Slovak, Czech, Bulgarian and Ukrainian.

What makes SPEDION special? According to our team, it is the “family atmosphere”, our “can-do culture” and “the strong relationships we have with our customers”. And our products? They provide “integrated solutions that reduce administrative workload”, are “designed around the needs of day-to-day operations” and are “simply among the best on the market”.

This combination makes SPEDION an attractive place to work, something that is reflected in our growing team. New colleagues regularly join SPEDION, three young people are currently completing vocational training with us, and five student employees join us each year to gain practical experience, develop their skills and strengthen our team. More than half of our employees have already been with us for over six years – and intend to stay for the long term. Perhaps this is no surprise: our eight four-legged colleagues also play their part in making SPEDION a great place to work. In their unofficial role as feel-good managers, our furry friends help create a relaxed atmosphere for their human colleagues across our various departments.

Speaking of relaxation, most of us enjoy unwinding by the sea, when we go on holiday. Northern destinations are particularly popular, with many of us choosing lowland regions such as the Netherlands, while others prefer heading to the mountains. The experience of travelling is something that AI cannot yet replace. Nevertheless, we appreciate the many ways technology can support us, and most of us already use it – for example, to simplify routine tasks, analyze data or support research.

For many of us, giving something back is important, and we volunteer with organisations such as the German Red Cross (DRK), the Water Rescue Service, animal welfare organisations or the volunteer fire brigade. Outside of volunteering, we also enjoy sports, playing in bands, singing in choirs and taking part in music clubs.

We have no shortage of words to live by at SPEDION. Our advice to the next generation? “Don’t wait for later – do it now”, “Smile, and the world will smile back” and – our undisputed favorite – “Always listen to your mum!”
